Ramsay Cook won the 1985 Governor General’s Award for The Regenerators. He is a Professor Emeritus of History at York University, A Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, a former Senior Killam Scholar, and Past President of the Canadian Historical Association. He is the author of several books and one of Canada’s best known historians. He is General Editor of the Dictionary of Canadian Biography and lives in Toronto.
Of McGiU’s Institute for the Study of Canada, he is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and an officer of the Order of Canada. He is the author of many books including A Short History of Canada and When Your Number’s Up: Canadian Soldiers and the First World War. He lives in Montreal.
Arthur Ray is Professor of History at the University of British Columbia, specializing in the historical geography of the Native peoples of Canada. He is a Killam Fellow and the author of several books including Indians and the Fur Trade and I Have Lived Here Since the World Began: An Illustrated History of Canada’s Native People. He lives in Vancouver.
Peter Waite is Professor Emeritus of History at Dalhousie University. He is an officer of the Order of Canada, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and Past President of the Canadian Historical Association. He is the author of many books including The Man From Halifax: Sir John Thompson, Prime Minister. He lives in Halifax.
Christopher Moore is a Toronto writer on historical subjects and a columnist for “The Beaver” magazine. His works include the Governor General’s Award winning Louisbourg Portraits, 1867: How the Fathers Made a Deal, the children’s history The Story of Canada, and the best-selling photo history Canada: Our Century. He lives in Toronto.

Graeme Wynn is a Professor of Geography at the University of British Columbia. Since 1990 he has been Associate Dean of Arts and Head of the Department of Geography at British Columbia and Visiting Senior Research Fellow at St. John’s College, Oxford. He is the author of Timber Colony and a contributor to numerous historical and geographical journals and The Historical Atlas of Canada. His research and writing is centred on the environmental histories of Canada and New Zealand. He lives in Vancouver.
