Twenty million viewers tuned in to watch the wedding of the Queen's sister, Princess Margaret, as she wed Mr Anthony Armstrong Jones at Westminster Abbey on 6 May 1960. It was a beautiful spring day, and the Princess arrived at the Abbey in the Glass Coach.
Margaret looked like a true princess as she stepped into the Abbey in a Norman Hartnell creation. The dress was made of white silk organza, cinched at the waist, and the silk skirt was hung over tulle petticoats. It also had a V-neckline and long, slim sleeves to suit Margaret's delicate frame.
