A number of individuals and institutions contributed to the initiative of this publication. First and foremost, we wish to express our gratitude to the late Mrs. Miriam A. Goldelman (d. 1984) from Jerusalem who provided some financial assistance to initiate a series of Ukrainian-Jewish Relations in memory of her deceased husband, Solomon I. Goldelman (1885-1974), a prominent Jewish educator, scholar and noted political activist in Ukraine and Israel.
